Meet the baker
Hi, I’m Jackie! I’ve always been someone who wears many hats. I’m a Social Worker, a Photographer, and a volunteer at Foster Hill Farm—so naturally, I figured I might as well add baker to the list!
I wandered into the world of baking from scratch in December of 2024 and quickly discovered just how much I loved it. By January of 2025, I started sharing my baking journey on Instagram. At first, I was simply baking because it brought me joy—but there was one small problem: I definitely couldn’t eat all those cookies myself!
So, I began sharing my homemade treats with friends and family. Before long, the comments started rolling in: “You need to start selling these cookies!”
After giving it some thought, I realized they might be onto something. Baking had already brought me so much joy, and starting The Wandering Baker, CT felt like the perfect way to share that joy with even more people.
What began as a love for baking from scratch has grown into something I’m so excited to share—one homemade treat at a time!
The Inspiration
My beautiful Meme, who passed away in 2020, inspired so much of my love for baking. Growing up, she always made sure we had homemade treats to enjoy—whether it was cookies, pies, cakes, or something special made with love. She had a true passion for baking, and some of my favorite memories are connected to the warmth and comfort of the treats she made from scratch.
I know she would be so proud to see that I’ve found that same love for baking and am now creating homemade treats of my own. The Wandering Baker is, in many ways, a tribute to the love, memories, and joy she brought to our family through her baking.
